The 21st century motto is to balance life between technology and humanity. There is no doubt about this. We have come to the point where the cultural aspect has become the vital key to what defines “people”; together they create a most unique structure of social outlooks we live by.
Words, language and entertainment… from which corners culture has sprung from. Innovation spices up the excitement by reinventing conventions and providing new interpretations that suggest more possibilities. Culture, innovation and technology are like three sides of the equilateral triangle; with the balance of the 3, the core (of humanity) is sustained. They depend on one another to form perfection.
As previously mentioned, no matter for the FRANZ collection, or the Korean supermarkets, you notice one fact: successful marketing ploys not only need to “attract attention”, but more importantly, they need to “touch hearts”. The modern advantages no longer sustain their wow factor to the audience. It is the culture side that relates to consumers, and through understanding a buyer’s life style (Emotion always reflects culture and best for understanding ways of thinking). Innovation then steps in to figure out what technological means, what that emotion responds to. When you face the right direction, and aim for the heart, you can’t miss.
The convenience of technology has made us dependent in our daily lives. It has not only become the result of innovation, it now inspires culture, too. Soho people, Smartphoners, and virtual check-ins… these modes of living have taken over our culture era almost to a global scale. We now live in the age of a universal, collective culture grounded in technology.
Culture is supposed to be about finding one’s roots, both physically and spiritually. The uprise of technology meets the needs of living, yet the consumer need often is formed through cultural aspects… It is crucial that these dots are connected: Seek out each problem, quirks, style and form of communication, and by analyzing these, technology should find a way to serve their needs. Technology promotes culture through innovation. Culture creates technology through need. Clockwise or counter-clockwise, we are still right smack in the center of it!
