The first Japanese anime time-axis RPG mobile game “World Cross Saga” begins closed beta testing with no data reset

“World Cross Saga”, the first game created through a team up by Gamania and AXEL MARK INC., a company on the Tokyo Stock Exchange with MOTHERS rated stock, is set to formally start closed beta testing for the Mandarin version with no data reset starting from today (21) on both iOS and Android platforms. In order to introduce “World Cross Saga” to players in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau, Gamania has invited AXEL GameStudio’s managing director and “World Cross Saga” producer Tatsuya Yamamoto to come to Taiwan to promote the game. Gamania also revealed some key features of the game, such as an “Innovative time-axis Strategy Mode”, PVP “Arena”, and “Cooperative” Mode. At the same time, Gamina hopes to provide players with the best quality story possible, and make the game like a miniature novel. Ben Chiu, product specialist for Gamina’s “World Cross Saga” stated that this marked the first time working with Taiwan’s Kadokawa, inviting the recipient of the 2015 Kadokawa Mandarin Light Novel Boy’s Side Silver Medalist, “Mr. Moon bear”, to check the game’s Mandarin content. In addition, the Mandarin version of “World Cross Saga” introduced their “Mutual-Creation Plan”: in order to encourage players to show off their creative side, and add a bit of color to the game’s characters, players may submit their work via the “World Cross Saga”‘s official Facebook page for review. Those who receive more than 100 likes will earn the chance to have their creation become a unique character for Taiwan.

Does the inspiration for “World Cross Saga”‘s innovative time-axis based domination battle system comes from the “classic Pokemon games”?
The brand new time-axis battle system incorporates real time PVP battles and cooperative mode to test player’s acumen and teamwork.

The first Japanese anime time-axis RPG mobile game “World Cross Saga” is set to formally start closed beta testing for the Mandarin version with no data reset starting from today (21) on both iOS and Android platforms. Gamania has invited AXEL GameStudio’s managing director and “World Cross Saga” producer Tatsuya Yamamoto to come to Taiwan to promote the game. Gamania also revealed some key features of the game, such as an innovative time-axis Strategy Mode, PVP “Arena”, and “Cooperative” Mode. In addition to meticulously designing a beautiful looking game, the innovative “time-axis domination mode” overturns the traditional “Fastest player is the strongest” RPG battle mode. Players must thoroughly understand the speed of each character’s abilities, and use the random effects of the “time-axis”. Players must also battle for the best attack position for themselves within 6 time-axis sections, and must consider strategies regarding how to attack first, make their attacks do the most damage, and disrupt the enemy.

Speaking about the inspiration for the “time-axis domination” battle system, “World Cross Saga” producer Tatsuya Yamamoto stated that his inspiration did indeed come from hoping this game could be as special and unique as the classic Pokemon games. At the beginning of development, the game was a simple battle command game, but due to the existence of so many similar games, the team made the tough decision to take the beta version at the time, which was already a year and a half into development, and change it to a time-battle system. The producer also mentioned “we hoped that we could add elements to make our game have as much replay value as Go or Shogi. Because of this, we came up with the six time-axis sections element”.

▲AXEL GameStudio’s managing director and “World Cross Saga” producer Tatsuya Yamamoto came to Taiwan for the first time to share their experiences making the game with Taiwanese media.

Using the new battle mode: time-axis domination, the game also comes with a real time PVP “Arena Mode”, allowing players to experience the thrill of testing their mettle against other players in a 1v1 battle of wits. In this mode, players can choose their opponents or let the matchmaking system randomly pair them with an opponent of similar skill with which to do real time battle. The rewards earned from the Arena can be used to develop your characters. While working on the game, producer Tatsuya Yamamoto stated in an interview that this was his favorite game design. In addition to the 1v1 Arena Mode, the game contains a three person team battle Cooperative Mode. Players may only send out one character at a time, and form a pre-made team or be matched with random players to battle strong monsters together. This is the ultimate test of a players battle strategy and teamwork abilities. This mode requires players to share the same time-axis, and understand the special characteristics of the level in order to form their strategy. In addition to considering one’s own actions, players must also be able to anticipate their teammate’s needs and actions to work well together. At the same time, in order to allow players to communicate during the battle, “World Cross Saga” designed vivid, interesting, and cute stickers as well as a tin-can chat system. Both are easy to use in the PVP Arena and Cooperative Modes.

Faithful to player experience! “World Cross Saga”‘s Mandarin version has no VIP system. New chapters and characters will be released every 2 to 3 weeks to create an epic story.
Famous voice-artists, original sounds, and a run-through by Taiwan’s Kadokawa give’s life to the character’s personalities

Gamina’s “World Cross Saga” product manager Ben Chiu specially thanked the players who had already played the Japanese version for sitting down to interviews and providing invaluable advice during the Mandarin version’s undergoing initial preparations. In order to let players fully experience all the entertainment of “World Cross Saga”‘s Mandarin version at different times, they decided to follow the Japanese version’s example and business model: there would be no VIP system, and at the same time, they plan to release a version copying an earlier Japanese version, and provide regular updates with new characters and chapters every 2 to 3 weeks. Additionally, in order to make the Mandarin version’s story even more refined, Mandarin voices were provided specially for main character “Lad” and female protagonist “Lena” by famous Japanese voice artists  Hanae Natsuki and Horie Yui. Gamina also worked with Taiwan’s Kadokawa, specially inviting the recipient of the 2015 Kadokawa Mandarin Light Novel Boy’s Side Silver Medalist, Mr. “Mr. Moon bear”, to check the game’s Mandarin content. These efforts add more feeling to the game’s story, and create a novel-like atmosphere. With “Mr. Moon bear”‘s help, the character’s personalities are more apparent and lively.

“World Cross Saga” wants you to join in the Player Mutual-Creation Plan! If you receive 100 likes from judges on Facebook, your creation will be turned into a localized character in the game

“World Cross Saga” is an extremely complete game whose story, battle modes and character development all have their own unique elements. The Mandarin version’s content and character balance are all meticulously designed, and so in an effort to let players experience all the joys of the game, the game was not released in Taiwan for a short time following the release of the Mandarin version. However, through the Player Mutual-Creation Plan, we hope that talented players can add to the game. “World Cross Saga” product manager Ben Chiu stated, both game interfaces and character art was designed with the utmost care. Players of the Japanese version evaluated it highly as well, and so, they decided to hold the Player Creation Plan to collect exemplary pieces of art, and encourage players to use their creativity to add some color to the game’s characters. Players need only receive 100 likes from judges on the “World Cross Saga” official Facebook page, and their piece will be sent to be evaluated by professional artists in Japan. From there, the player’s work has a chance to become a unique, local part of the Mandarin version of “World Cross Saga”. The first Japanese anime time-axis mobile game “World Cross Saga” began closed beta testing with no data reset today (21). Starting from today, those who download and log in to the game may select a five star character of their own choosing, and experience the thrill of battle in the Land at the Center of Time. For more information, players may follow “World Cross Saga”‘s official Facebook page.
